Delete your Yoonu Jàngale account
This text applies to the Yoonu Jàngale app, intended for Guides and Teachers (Oustaz and Imams) and downloaded from the yoonujamm.app website. The Yoonu Jamm app, for worshippers' daily practice, has its own texts (yoonujamm.app/terms).
Yoonu Jàngale is published by Nicolas Geslain ([email protected]). This page explains how to delete your account in the directory of Oustaz and Imams, and what is erased. The worship features (prayer times, Qur'an, hadiths, Qibla, tasbih, agenda) have no account: their data stays on your phone, and uninstalling the app erases it.
Which account
- For a directory user: an anonymous account, with no name, e-mail address or phone number, created on your phone the first time you open the directory.
- For an Oustaz or an Imam: the same account, and the profile published in the directory.
From the app
- User: Menu, "Mon compte" (My account), "Supprimer mon compte" (Delete my account), then a double confirmation.
- Oustaz or Imam: Menu, "Espace Oustaz", "Mes options" (My options), "Supprimer mon compte", then a double confirmation.
Without your phone
Write to [email protected] with the 8-character deletion code shown in "Mon compte" (note it while you still have your phone). We find the account with this code, request its deletion and reply within a month. An Oustaz or an Imam who no longer has their phone can also write with the name and phone number of their profile: we check that you are the person on the profile before acting.
Account created with an earlier test version of Yoonu Jamm
Until 16 October 2026, the directory was part of Yoonu Jamm. An account created with that earlier test version is linked neither to Yoonu Jàngale, which creates its own account on your phone, nor to the new Yoonu Jamm, which no longer has accounts.
- If the old test app is still installed: "My account", then "Delete my account".
- Otherwise: write to [email protected] giving the deletion code if you noted it or, for an Oustaz or an Imam, the name and number of the profile. The team checks that the request really comes from you, deletes the account from its tool and replies within one month. What is erased is described below.
What is erased, and when
- Immediately: your profile (Oustaz or Imam) leaves the directory, your open conversations are closed, your phone's access to your account is cut, and the contact details left with a review are erased.
- 7 days later: your account, nickname, deletion code, profile and photo are erased.
- Identity documents from the verification of an Oustaz or an Imam are erased right after the team's decision, or with the profile if the account is deleted before.
- Your conversations remain readable by the people you exchanged with, without your name, until they are erased according to the retention periods of the privacy policy (yoonujamm.app/jangale/privacy). Reports that concern you or that you made become anonymous.
- Backups keep this data for 14 days at most, encrypted, and then disappear.
Changing your mind
During the 7 days, reopening the directory on the same phone cancels the deletion. After that, it is final.
