End-user licence agreement (EULA) of the Yoonu Jamm app

This text applies to the Yoonu Jamm app, for worshippers' daily practice.

In short

1. Parties and purpose

This end-user licence agreement (the "agreement") is made between Nicolas Geslain, a private individual who publishes the app in a non-professional capacity (the "publisher"), and any person who installs or uses the Yoonu Jamm mobile app (the "user" or "you").

It sets the conditions under which the publisher grants you the right to use the app. Use of the service is also described by the terms of use (yoonujamm.app/terms), and your data by the privacy policy (yoonujamm.app/privacy). For the licence of the software, this agreement prevails.

2. Acceptance

On first launch, the app shows you this agreement and the terms of use, and asks you to accept them. The accepted version, with the date and time of acceptance, is kept on your phone; nothing is sent. If you do not accept, do not use the app and uninstall it.

Each version of this agreement carries a number. When its substance changes, the app asks you to accept the new version at the next launch.

3. Licence granted

The publisher grants you a personal, free, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the app for private and non-commercial purposes, on devices you own or control, in accordance with the usage rules of the store it comes from (Apple's App Store or Google Play). During testing, the app may also be installed from the yoonujamm.app website; this agreement applies in the same way.

The licence is granted, not sold. All rights not expressly granted to you remain with the publisher.

4. What you agree not to do

Except to the extent the law allows it despite this prohibition, you agree not to:

5. Intellectual property

The code, name, logo, texts and design specific to Yoonu Jamm belong to the publisher and are protected by copyright and trademark law. The text of the Qur'an, its translations and recitations, the hadiths and their translations, OpenStreetMap data and fonts remain the property of their authors and are used under their licences, listed in the legal notice (yoonujamm.app/legal-notice).

6. Religious content and worship tools

Prayer times are calculated on the phone using a recognised method, and the Qibla direction depends on the phone's sensors: they are indications, to be checked with your mosque if in doubt. Translations of the Qur'an and the hadiths are those of their authors. The list of mosques comes from OpenStreetMap and may be incomplete. The publisher gives no religious opinion and takes no side for any school or brotherhood.

7. Parental code

The parental code locks the settings, the calendar and the mosque screen on the phone where it is set. It is kept only on that phone, as a hash: the publisher can neither read it nor give it back. If it is forgotten, the lock is removed 72 hours after a request made in the app.

The parent or guardian who sets it remains responsible for keeping the code secret and for supervising the child's use of the phone. The parental code is an aid: it does not guarantee that a child will never open a protected screen, in particular if the child knows the code, clears the app's data or uses another device. For fuller protection, also use the phone's parental controls (Screen Time on iPhone, Family Link on Android).

8. Availability and changes

The app is provided free of charge, as is. The publisher strives to keep it working properly, but does not guarantee that it will be free of errors, compatible with every device, or available without interruption. Listening to the Qur'an, the mosque search and calendar place suggestions depend on online services that may be interrupted, changed or closed. The publisher may change the app, add or remove features, or stop publishing it.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by the applicable law, in particular the Senegalese Code of Civil and Commercial Obligations:

These limits do not apply in case of gross or intentional fault by the publisher, nor to bodily injury, nor to the rights that the law of your country of residence grants you and that no contract may override.

10. Personal data

The app creates no account and collects no personal data on our servers. Your location, your settings, the calendar, the parental code and the acceptance of this agreement stay on your phone. The few transfers, such as a rounded location for the mosque search, are described in the privacy policy, in compliance with Senegalese Law no. 2008-12 of 25 January 2008 on the protection of personal data and, for the people subject to it, the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

11. App stores

This agreement is made between you and the publisher only, and not with Apple or Google.

12. Term and termination

This agreement applies as long as you use the app. You may end it at any time by uninstalling the app. The publisher may end it in case of a serious breach on your part; you must then stop using the app. Sections 5, 9 and 13 continue to apply after the agreement ends.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

This agreement is governed by Senegalese law. Before any action, write to [email protected]: the publisher will seek an amicable solution with you within 30 days. Failing that, any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dakar (Senegal). If you act as a consumer and live in another country, you keep the protection of the mandatory provisions of that country's law, and may bring the matter before the courts it designates.

14. Miscellaneous and contact

If a term of this agreement is held invalid, the others remain applicable. Not enforcing a term does not mean waiving it. For any question or complaint: Nicolas Geslain, publisher of Yoonu Jamm, [email protected].

Version 2 of 16 October 2026. Version 1, published at this address until 16 October 2026, also covered the directory of Oustaz and Imams, which is no longer part of Yoonu Jamm.
